"We need more money," you said. "It wasn't so hard to take the first wallet."\n\n"You're an idiot," Holly said, rolling her eyes. "I'm going to find a place to stay." She walked off and you stormed the other way.\n\n"I'll show her," you muttered, as you looked around for another demon to pickpocket. You spotted a young pale skinned teen and stepped towards him.\n\n"Excuse me," you said, as you bumped into him and lifted his wallet from a fold in his clothing. The demon growled, but continued on his way. Unfortunately, the adult demon walking next to him didn't.\n\nHe stepped in front of you and grabbed your wrist and twisted it until it snapped. You cried out in pain as he forced you to your knees. "No one steals from my son," he said, as he grabbed your throat with his free hand and squeezed. Your vision slowly turned black and your life drained away and the last thing you heard was the snickering of demons as they passed by.\n\n \n\n[[Restart]]
You rushed towards Ellende and Holly did the same. He just grinned as a wall of gore and\nbones blocked your way.\n\n[[The only thing you could do was accept your fate...]]
You forced yourself over Beth and placed the paper on her chest. Holly stared at you, but she shook her head and placed her piece of paper on Beth as well. "I hope you know what you're doing," she whispered.\n\nBeth disappeared from the room and reappeared moments later, an hour worth of pain fighting its way out of her eyes as tears.\n\n"I guess I can trust you," Ellende said.\n\n"Now, you two will need to be initiated as my servants," Ellende said. "Whatever spell you're using probably won't last long and you do NOT want to be in Hell when it realizes you aren't demons. Every bit of Hell will attack you with visions and torments that will dig into every bit of your mind and never let up."\n\nHolly stared at him with horror and you kicked yourself for ever bringing her here.\n\n"Don't worry," he said with a laugh. "Servants get a free pass. You don't have to suffer the pain of Hell." He grinned at Beth. "Unlike slaves."\n\nBeth shrank away from the Ellende and you felt as dirty as the gore around you.\n\n"We only have two weeks," Holly managed to say. "Is that enough... time?"\n\n"That's plenty of time," Ellende said. "I would love to use the initiation site at the death gardens of Oylana, but teleportation’s not allowed there the only way to get to it is a month long journey on foot. The death fires of Grena will have to do. We can be there in seconds."\n\n"That's fine with me... Sir." The Sir felt bitter in your mouth and you wanted to spit in Ellende's face.\n\n"Ok," he said. "Just let me do something first..." He disappeared and long bones emerged from the flesh walls and attacked Beth, wrapping themselves around her and burrowing into her skin.\n\n\n[[You decided to rush over to your sister and pull the bones away from her...]]\n\n[[You forced yourself to wait for Ellende to come back...]]

"You're lying," you said and held the blade closer to Preos' throat. She started to struggle and a sticky warmth spread down your fingers and hand. She stopped struggling and you looked down to see a lifeless body in your arms.\n\nThe air shook with Ellende's roar of grief and rage. you dropped the body to the ground and backed away.\n\n"How could you?" Holly stormed over to you. "She was just a child. How could-" Holly's body burst into flames, as did everything around you, including your sister. You tried to move forward, but your feet had melted into the earth.\n\n"You will watch them burn," Ellende said. "And then you will burn too." He disappeared with his daughter's corpse, leaving you to watch the two people you cared about most writhe in the flames. 'It'll be my turn soon,' you told yourself.\n\n\n \n\n[[Restart]]
"How did you get a human for a slave? I'd be willing to offer you a lot for her." You looked over at Beth and nearly cringed. What made you think interviewing a monster like Ellende was such a good idea?\n\n"I bought her," Ellende said. He looked over at Beth. The room seemed to spring to life around her and pieces of the house twisted and crept over her legs. He waved them away. "She's actually innocent and alive... Would you believe that a couple of demon hunters actually gave her to me? Some internal strife or some other such shit. I just got lucky."\n\n"Do humans make good slaves?" You looked over at Holly, surprised by her voice. You had focused so much on your sister, that you had forgotten she was there.\n\n"Of course they do. Especially the innocent ones. You know how irritating they can be. Tormenting one and making her do my bidding is wonderful." He looked over at Beth.\n\n"Retire to your room." The floor opened up, revealing long tendrils of bone and skin, and a wavering sea of dark energy. Beth nodded and stepped inside.\n\nThe floor closed up and you fought the tears that threatened to spring into your eyes. 'I can't cry. I have to be strong. I have to save her.'\n\n"Every demon wants her," Ellende said. "They're been teleporting into my house for the past two weeks just to get a go at her. The living rarely come into Hell, especially not the innocent.” He smiled and the dark energy of the couch started to wrap around you and Holly.\n\n"I knew what you were the moment you came to my house," he said, as he took a berry out of the bag and bit into it, and licked the blood red juice from his lips. "I'm not an idiot. Who are you guys? Demon hunters? Mercenaries?"\n\n"We're...reporters," you said, your voice shaking. "We just wanted to study demons...Really...Please don't kill us..."\n\nEllende laughed. "You guys thought you could waltz into Hell and interview a few demons, right? The last human reporters who were stupid enough to try that ended up eaten at a demon council dinner."\n\nYou stared at him and tried to speak, but your voice caught in your throat and refused to come out.\n\n"You offend me by your stupidity and your assumption of my stupidity," Ellende said. "Then again, you two might make good servants. You definitely have the guts. I just need proof that you are willing to be loyal." He looked over to where Beth had been. "Slaves don't need to be loyal, but unloyal servants are a danger."\n\n"We'll do whatever you want," you blurted out and Holly glared over at you.\n\nHe waved his hand and the hole in his floor opened up. Ellende walked over and reached in and pulled Beth out by the hair. She was still covered in the gunk that lived inside the house.\n\n"I want you to torment my slave. I'm sure you two have heard of Parn, the demonic realm of endless pain?" Two pieces of paper appeared in Holly's and your hands. "All you have to do is stick those two pieces of paper on her and she'll be sent there for an hour's worth of pain."\n\nThe dark energy bonds faded away and the couch shoved you both up to your feet. You looked over at your sister. You could send her to Parn and find a way to release her later, or you could stick the paper on Ellende and make a run for it.\n\n\n[[You decided to stick your paper on Beth...]] \n\n[[You decided to stick your paper on Ellende...]]
"I'm going to the nightmare fields," you said and walked out of the room. It took you ten minutes before you realized that Holly had not followed you.\n\nYou found the nightmare fields next to a large mansion. You saw Holly knocking on the door, but you ignored her and stepped to the fields. You saw a sign, but ignored that as well and walked into the blackness of the fields.\n\nThe blackness intensified as soon as you passed through it and clung to your skin like ice. You stumbled forward, as small visions sprung from the corner of your eyes. You ran forward, but the visions followed and swarmed in front of you like beasts. You saw yourself melting into a pile of bloody skin and the creature that lived in your nightmares as a child rushing towards you.\n\nYou ran even faster the other way and didn't stop until you made your way out of the fields. You looked over towards the mansion and saw a headless body spread out on the porch. You stepped towards it and realized it was Holly.\n\n"No," you whined and fell to the knees. You gathered her body into your arms and barely noticed or cared that her skin no longer looked like a demon's.\n\n"You must be a human too," a voice said and you looked up to see a tall demon in a butler's outfit. He held Holly's head by her hair and you could see the fear still etched in her face.\n\n"Mr. Ellende doesn't like to be disturbed," he said. A blade appeared in his hand and he swung it at you. After a blinding flash of pain, you remembered nothing.\n\n\n \n\n[[Restart]]
Ellende's house was on the other side of town. It sprawled over several acres of finely cultivated sinew and gnarled plants with bright red flowers that periodically opened to reveal rows of razor sharp teeth. The walls were made of pulsing flesh and glassless windows that grew and shrunk with the breath-like movement of the house.\n\nNext to the house was a large dark expanse of land, that wavered in a haze of black. The main road disappeared into it and a large sign stood in their path.\n\n"Warning! Do not pass! Nightmare fields ahead!"\n\nYou turned and walked towards the house. When you stepped onto the fleshy porch, a pale skinned demon in a butler's outfit open the door and glared at you and Holly.\n\n"What do you want?"\n\n"We're...reporters," Holly said. "We came here to do a story on Reanon Ellende."\n\nA long black blade appeared in the demon's hand. He curled his fingers around the shaft. "Mr. Ellende is a busy man. If you don't leave ---"\n\nEllende waved them in and led them into a large living room. He pointed towards a couch made of blood suspended in a web of black energy. You hesitated, then gritted your teeth and sat down.\n\nHolly did the same and snuck a glare over to you. "This is insane," she whispered. "As soon as we get this interview, we're out of here..."\n\n"My slave should be here any minute with a fresh crop of nightmare berries," Ellende said. "The nightmare fields are full of them this time of year. They'll make a nice refreshment during our conversation."\n\n"Here she is..." A young woman walked into the room carrying a large skin sack over her shoulder. Her clothing was dirty and stained with blood and filth. She kept her gaze to the floor as she handed the bag to Ellende. You took one look at her and felt a vice grip your heart. The woman was your little sister, Beth.\n\n"I just love nightmare berries," Ellende said.\n\n\n[[You rushed over to your sister...]]\n\n[[You asked Ellende how he got Beth and if you could buy her from him...]]
You yanked the bones from your sister's skin, but it just made them dig in deeper.\n\nEllende reappeared with a frown.\n\n[[The only thing you could do was accept your fate...]]
Holly walked over and pulled Beth to her feet. You let them step through the portal first and then you walked through with Preos still clutched in your arms.\n\nYou exited into a deserted lot in the middle of the city. Beth stared around in shock. "The voices, the visions... They're gone." She looked over at you and Holly and stared to cry. "Is it true? Are you really my brother?"\n\n"Yes," you said, still holding the knife to Preos' throat. "And I won't let anyone ever hurt you ever again." You looked down at the girl in her arms. "I'm not going to hurt you either. I don't know what the angels will do with you, though."\n\nDozens of bright white lights floated down towards you and slowly grew and shifted until they had the forms of winged men and women.\n\n"We smelled a demon," one of the figures said and you recognized the voice of the angel who provided you with the demonic disguise spell. She waved her hand and you felt the spell melt away like the skin falling off a snake.\n\n"You can let the girl go," another angel said. He walked over and carefully removed the girl from your arms. You dropped the knife in the dirt. The girl screamed in pain from the touch of the angel, and her demonic features fell away and were replaced by angelic light.\n\n"No child is born with a tainted soul," he said. "Now she has the chance to be something other than evil."\n\nYou nodded and rushed over to your sister. She flung her arms around your neck and sobbed.\n\n"It's ok now," you said. "No one is going to hurt you again." You wrapped your arms around her and decided that some things were more important than getting the big story.\n\n\n \n\nThe end. (2 of 2)
"We should find a place to sleep," you said. "We need to act like regular tourists."\n\n"Yeah," Holly said, looking around. "Regular tourists in the depths of Hell. Let's just find a place to sleep."\n\nYou walked down the sidewalk, as a gust of wind brought a swirl of bone dust and flecks of blood around your legs. You walked down what seemed like Felwa's "mainstreet" and stopped in front of a squat bone building with the words "Motel 666" painted on the front in blood.\n\nYou and Holly stepped into the front door and walked over to a small and dusty desk where a young demon sat, chewing a piece of human tongue as if it were gum.\n\n"What do you want?" She stared at you and Holly as if boredom was coming off the two of you in waves.\n\n"We'd like a room," Holly said as calmly as she could.\n\n"Fine," the girl said, as she continued to chew. "That'll be thirty five skinbacks. I hope you aren't expecting anything fancy. We ain't no big city like Degar or even Swamt. You get a bed, a desk and a copy of the Necronomicon. If you want food, you'll have to go out and buy it yourself."\n\nYou placed some of the money down on the counter and the girl handed you a dagger shaped key attached to a glowing black marker with the number 79 etched into it.\n\n"Tomorrow, you're going to have to pay for another night and don't go throwing any wild party's...without inviting me."\n\n"Sure thing," Holly said as the two of you headed to room 79. You grabbed up a small skin pamphlet from a pile on the desk and stuck it in your tote bag that the spell made look like the stomach of a large man. You placed the pamphlet on top of some unwrapped power bars that were made to look like the horrific human flesh the demons ate.\n\nYou and Holly walked out of the office and walked outside to the room. Room\nseventy-nine was just as the girl described it, except the bed was made of bone and the desk was built out of bleeding scalps.\n\n"I think we should sleep on the floor," Holly said, as she tried not to look at the furniture. You did a little better, since you had been imagining that everything looked like Hawaii from the moment you stepped into Hell.\n\nYou pulled the pamphlet out of your tote and started to read. “We should try and interview someone who’s rich and powerful and I don't think there's that many people like that here." You pointed to an entry that showed a large house and several pictures of a wealthy looking demon. "Do you read demon?"\n\n"Of course not," Holly said, her eyes wide. "Why would you think that?" She looked over at the pamphlet. "There's English underneath the demonic script."\n\nYou paused a moment to wonder why a pamphlet from Hell would have an English translation and then read the words.\n\n"Reanon Ellende is Felwa's most illustrious citizen. A former council member and authors of several spells and curses, Ellende was spawned in Felwa over six hundred years ago. He was the youngest member of the council and left his position to watch over Felwa's nightmare fields."\n\n"We should go see him," Holly said. "Then we can interview him and get the... you know... out of here."\n\n"I'd like to get a few photos of the nightmare fields," you said.\n\n"Well, I'm going to interview Ellende," Holly said with a frown. "You can do whatever you want."\n\n\n[[You decided to go with Holly...]]\n\n[[You decided to head out to the nightmare fields...]]
The city of Felwa looked like a nightmare version of a small American town. The buildings were made of sticky red wood and stone that dripped with blood. The white picket fences were made of bone and surrounded lawns filled with the growing sinews of the damned and flesh covered trees with gnarled fists growing from dead branches like fruit. Every vehicle on the slime covered streets was black or red and stopped at streets lights filled with red, yellow, and green glowing eyes that opened and closed depending on whose turn it was.\n\nThe people's skin was either deathly white or dark gunmetal gray. Their eyes glowed like gems of every color imaginable and they wore loose clothing that seemed to move against the wind.\n\nYou and your best friend Holly had entered Hell to get the story of a lifetime. Your boss wouldn't be so quick to call you "a worthless excuse for a reporter" if you brought in an interview with an actual demon. And that's what you were going to do. Sure, several reporters had written on the subject, like how demons fed off the pain of those around them but loved their own families with an almost insane passion, but none of those reporters were from your paper.\n\nYou managed to bribe an angel to give you and Holly a spell to make you and Holly look like demons. You could still remember her dire warning. "You morons have two weeks before the spell wears out. If you aren't out of Hell by that time, it'll turn on you and attack your very soul. Did I mention you guys are morons?"\n\nYou shook your head at the memory and lamented the fact that genius and guile are always misunderstood. Holly hit you in the shoulder and glared.\n\n"We only have two weeks. Stop daydreaming and do something."\n\nYou glared back at her and pulled out a demonic wallet you had managed to liberate from the back pocket of some young demon. You leafed through the long bits of flesh with monetary denominations and distinguished looking demon faces printed on them.\n\n"Well," you began, "it looks like we have about fifty whatevers here. That's hardly enough to live off of for two weeks. We could try and find some place to stay with the money we have, or we could try and find more."\n\n"Do you mean steal?" Holly grinned. "I still can't believe you snatched that demon kid's wallet. Well, I think we should find some place to stay. I don't want to risk getting arrested for pickpocketing.”\n\nYou leaned against a lamppost made of bone and considered your options.\n\n \n[[You decided to go find a place to stay... ]]\n\n[[You decided to liberate another wallet...]] \n
You rushed over to Preos and wrapped the knife around her neck. She screamed and struggled, but that just made the knife dig into her throat. Ellende raised his hand, but you just glared at him.\n\n"Try anything and she dies," you said, as you deliberately dug the knife further into sobbing girl's skin. Ellende lowered his arm and backed away.\n\n"Daddy, help me..." The girl's voice nearly made you melt, but you couldn't back down. Your sister's life was at stake.\n\n"Don't worry sweetheart," Ellende said softly. "I won't let anything happen to you." He looked over at you hatefully, but the fear in his eyes couldn't be hid. "What do you want?"\n\n"I want my sister," you said, as you pointed motioned at Beth. "All you have to do is release her, me and Holly." You smiled. "Unless, of course, you want your precious little girl to lose her head."\n\n"Fine," he said, as he kept his hands in front of him. "Just let her go."\n\n"After we're safe on Earth," you said and kept the knife at the girl's throat.\n\nEllende released Beth's bonds and a portal formed to the right of Holly. "There... Please, don't hurt her."\n\n\n[[You decided to go through the portal...]] \n\n[[You figured Ellende was lying...]]
Demons and Deadlines
You stepped over to Beth and held the dagger over her neck. She stared up at you with tear filled eyes and started to struggle even harder.\n\n"Please... don't kill me... Please..."\n\nHolly stayed where she was. "How could you even think of killing your own sister?" She glared over at Ellende. "I will never be your servant, you miserable piece of filth."\n\n"Don't take to my daddy like that!" Preos ran over to Holly and kicked her in the shins.\n\nHolly groaned in pain and glared at the girl. "Demonic brat," she muttered.\n\nEllende waved his hands and Holly burst into flames. "No one talks to my little girl like that."\n\nYou stared at Holly in shock and then looked back at your sister. "I'm sorry Beth," you said. "There's only one way out of this mess." You jammed the dagger into her heart. You ignored her dying cries and pulled the blade away and thrust it up towards your own chest, mixing her blood with yours in one final bond of love and death.\n\n \n\nThe end. (1 of 2)
After a few minutes, he returned with a small demon girl that looked like a miniature Ellende. He waved away the bones away and they retracted from Beth with a slick pop.\n\n"You guys ready?"\n\n"Yes sir," you and Holly both said.\n\nEllende smiled. "Good." He looked down at the child. "This is my daughter Preos. I thought she'd like to see an initiation." The girl looked over at you and Holly. "Will it cause them pain, Daddy?"\n\n"No it won't," Ellende said and the girl crossed her arms and stuck her lip out. He laughed and ruffled her hair. "But you'll get to see a sacrifice." Preos' eyes lit up and she uncrossed her arms and grinned. "Cool!"\n\nEllende waved a hand and the house faded away. You found yourself in a desolate land with spurting geysers of black fire. A flash of greasy lightening muted everything to gray for a few seconds.\n\nPreos ran over to a large slab of black rock and climbed on top. "Is this where you'll do the sacrifice, Daddy?"\n\nHe walked over to the slab and pulled his daughter off. "I'm not going to sacrifice anyone," he said and looked over at you and Holly. "They are."\n\nYour sister appeared on the black stone, bound with strips of flesh. She screamed and struggled to pull herself up, but the flesh melted into the stone and kept her in place.\n\nTwo long daggers appeared in your and Holly's hands.\n\n\n[[You decided to kill your sister...]]\n\n[[You decided to take Preos hostage...]]
"I guess you wouldn't make good servants after all," he said. "But you'd make good slaves." He waved his hands and a thousands voices of grief, pain and hate filled your head. You fell to your knees and put your hands to your temples. You noticed your hands looked human.\n\n"I removed that spell of yours," Ellende said. "Hell knows what you are now." You could barely hear him through the din, and you thought you heard Beth scream your name\nand Holly simply scream.\n\n"You'll get used to it," he said, as he walked over to Beth. "She did."\n\n \n\n[[Restart]]
